There are artists who paint the world. And there are artists who cross worlds to paint. Adielso Rodrigues belongs to the second category. Born in Rio Branco, Mato Grosso, and now based in Campinas, he transformed his Qabana Atelier into a territory where contemporary art, spirituality, memory, and life experiences converge in a rare and profoundly sensorial way. His works are not merely created: they are accessed.
Adielso’s relationship with art began early, at the age of seven, as an intuitive game that, over time, gained structure, method, and vision. Before dedicating himself exclusively to creation, he spent more than a decade working in healthcare, a universe that connected him with human fragilities, intense stories, and a broadened understanding of what it means to exist. This experience, combined with his training at the Arquitec School in Campinas, a degree in Interior Design, and studies at Sheila Tapajos’ atelier, built a solid foundation upon which his style expanded.
But it is in the invisible territory, the emotional, energetic, and spiritual, that Adielso found the strength that today distinguishes his work in the contemporary scene. A significant part of his creations emerges from deep meditative practices. Before beginning a piece, the artist accesses elevated levels of consciousness to silence everyday noise, dissolve mental blocks, and dive into subtler layers of perception. For him, meditation is not an aesthetic ritual but a tool of opening: the precise point where intention, emotion, and creativity align.
The impact of this process is visible in Qabana’s most introspective series, where layers, textures, and movements carry a particular vibration, as if each work functioned as a portal between the internal and the external, between the creator and the observer.
Another fundamental moment in his journey occurred in 2010, when Adielso traveled to Haiti just days after the earthquake, working as a volunteer. There, amid chaos and reconstruction, he experienced deeply striking cultural expressions, including elements of Vodou spirituality. Far from stereotypes, he encountered a culture that redefines pain and strength, ancestry and identity. This experience left invisible marks that now emerge in nuances of his production, whether in the use of symbols, in the way he organizes the chaos of matter, or in the search for an energy that pulses behind each stroke.

The Qabana Atelier, physically established since 2015 in Campinas, is the material translation of this universe. The name, inspired by the cabins of his childhood at his grandparents’ house, carries the idea of shelter, memory, and simplicity. In this space, the artist moves between geometric, abstract, figurative series and compositions that investigate the corrosion of time, nature, and the delicacy of contemporary rituals. This multiplicity is a hallmark of his work: Adielso does not create from a single language but from different internal states.
When creation involves a personalized piece, the process intensifies. Adielso studies the client, their references, the space where the work will be placed, the type of light, the desired emotional impact. “I can only create when I feel there is connection,” he says. And perhaps that is why the sensation of delivering a work is, for him, a mixture of gratitude and emptiness, as if a part of himself remained on the canvas.
In recent years, the artist has also expanded his presence in exhibition spaces in Brazil and abroad. In 2017, he presented his work in Lisbon, in a show that opened doors to dialogue with the European public. In 2018, he participated in the International Salon in Miami, at the Art & Design Gallery, and in 2022, he joined the program of the Academy of Art and Letters of Campinas. On the national circuit, he has been present at important fairs such as ABUP in 2019, HIGH DESIGN in 2020, and Boom SP Design in 2023, further consolidating his role in the contemporary market.
