Executive director wanted: Elon Musk has already decided when he will step down on Twitter

The followers have decided and it seems that Elon Musk will comply. After the majority approved the end of his journey as executive director of Twitter, the entrepreneur set a deadline to hire

In December, Elon Musk had already left open the possibility of stepping down as executive director of Twitter. On the social network, the entrepreneur asked his followers whether or not to do it. At the time, 57.5% voted yes. But after finishing the voting, Musk attributed the results to manipulation by bots. A day later, the final decision was reached: he will leave Twitter when he finds “someone foolish enough to take the job”.

This Wednesday, during the World Government Summit in Dubai, where he participated via video call, Musk put a deadline on the decision. The expectation is to have a new executive director by the end of 2023.

Musk has described Twitter as “a startup in reverse”, which is why he prefers to “stabilize the organization” and make sure everything is financially sound before assigning the job to someone else.

After buying Twitter last year, the entrepreneur has already faced some controversy, and during the conference he chose to make his objective clear in relation to the universe of social networks: to allow speech with “the least amount of censorship allowed by law, [something that] varies greatly by jurisdiction.” According to him, it is about respecting the laws of the countries and not going beyond those same laws.

According to Forbes North America, the entrepreneur’s assets are valued at 196.5 billion dollars (about 183 billion euros), which makes him the richest person in the world.
