Program will try to reduce the unemployment gap that exists among women in the countries of the region
To develop the digital skills of thousands of women in situations of social and economic vulnerability, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) signed a non-reimbursable $500,000 financial cooperation agreement.
This is an alliance with the non-governmental organization Junior Achievement Americas, to co-finance the implementation of the Digital Woman Program (She’s Digital). The initiative will benefit 7,500 women between the ages of 17 and 30 from Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic and Mexico.
The benefited women will receive a certificate in digital skills, web development and cybersecurity. Likewise, the agreement will allow them to learn about socio-emotional, labor and financial planning skills so that they can enter the labor market more easily. In addition, to have the opportunity to access more and better paid jobs or create their own businesses in the digital economy.

Training and preparation are key so that women can aspire to better jobs or create their own businesses, added Mossi. Hence the importance of promoting “initiatives that generate equal opportunities and economic and social conditions,” stressed the executive president of CABEI. The agreement will try to reduce the unemployment gap that exists among women in the countries of the region.
Additionally, the initiative will have the support of local companies, chambers of commerce and other partners that, together, will be supporting the generation of job opportunities for these women. Private sector companies will also participate, since CABEI is part of a consortium made up of the private sector (Amazon Web Services, Cisco, IBM, Delta Airlines, Manpower/Experis) and the BIDLab.
